What's new?
- July, 2007: second, updated release of StOCNET 1.8, with some cosmetics performed on the SIENA model specification screen, and the possibility in SIENA to specify interaction effects for the behavioral evolution part of models. A pre-release of the documentation regarding that option can be seen in the provisional SIENA manual at Tom Snijders' website at the University of Oxford (p.56).
- April, 2007: official release of StOCNET 1.8, containing a new version of SIENA (version 3.1). This SIENA version contains new options of maximum likelihood and Bayesian estimation, and is (for most data sets) considerably faster than earlier versions. Bugs of the beta release, related to directory settings and the inclusion of changing dyadic covariates in SIENA, are eliminated.
Furthermore, this StOCNET release contains the option to estimate exponential random graph models with the PNet module developed at the University of Melbourne. For successfully running this module, you need to download it from the PNet website and put it in the main StOCNET directory. Additionally, installation of the JAVA Platform and the Microsoft .NET Framework is required (consult the website for details).
- February, 2006: official release of StOCNET 1.7, containing new versions of SIENA (version 2.4a) and p2 (version 4), as well as a new p2 interface. The main innovations in p2 are about modeling multiple networks, either in a multilevel model or in a multivariate model. The main innovations in SIENA are the possibility to include temporally changing dyadic covariates, and additional specifications for finetuning the estimation process. Compared to the beta release, only the SIENA software was changed (elimination of some bugs, one of which concerned the rate function). The new SIENA executables can also be downloaded separately.
